A former President of the Nigerian Bar Association has been declared as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the November 26 elections in Ondo State. He polled 669 votes to beat Mr Segun Abraham, the anointed candidate of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who scored 635 votes.
The second runner-up was Chief Olusola Oke, former National Legal Adviser of the PDP who decamped to APC barely one week after former President Goodluck Jonathan lost the April 2015 election to the incumbent President Muhammad Buhari. He polled 576 votes.
The Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Prof Ajayi Boroffice came a distant fourth with 471 votes. A total number of 23 aspirants contested the election.
