The Nigerian Music Legend, 2face Idibia stormed Ibadan to celebrate and promote the cultural values of Ibadan with a live band in an opening concert of Ibadan Countdown Festival 2016.
The organizers of Ibadan Countdown Festival recently unveiled 2Face Idibia as the main act for this year’s Ibadan Countdown Festival. The primary motive behind the organization of Ibadan Countdown Festival is to promote the culture and values of Ibadan, as such has been organized by other big cities like Lagos and Benin.
The eight days event will also have themed days, among which are the family day, food day, business and networking day, Tourism day, cultural day, youth and sports day and the countdown/firework finale, which another A-list act will headline.
“We are also expecting over 100 acts across eight days. We are leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that Ibadan will be as lively as ever this year. 2Baba is just a tip of the eye-bog among the others who will be unveiled at the event”, Alfred Emeka, one of the organizers said.

The event which started from the 24th of December will run to the wee hours of the 1st of January. The proposed events for each day are as follows:
24th of December– Opening Ceremony, Carnival and Funfair, Musical Performance by headline artistes, with the side attraction being an opening remark by the Governor of Oyo State.
25th of December– Family Day which includes an elaborate christmas celebration for families at Agodi Gardens
26th of December– Food festival which is aimed at showcasing the best of Ibadan cuisines and also country and International varieties
27th of December– Cultural Day
28th of December– Fashion Awareness day which is aimed at showcasing the blast from the past in the fashion industry and a peep into the future. There will also be a competition for runway models.
29th of December– Business Awareness day which is aimed at promoting business networks. There will also be talks from business icons and gurus.
30th of December– Youth and Sport Day
31st of December– Grand finale where over 50 Ibadan based artistes will be performing and there will also be fireworks display and a countdown into the New Year concert.
