With sport betting getting plenty of attention in Nigeria of late and almost every youth getting engrossed in the new money making scheme around the country. It quite normal to meet a lot of personalities in a typical bet shop. They range from the ones who would go to the shop to talk all day long without playing a single game to the the ones who are perpetual analyst, they would analyse what every team would play. More often than not, these people are usually wrong.
The Business Minded Ones: They would come with what ever money they can lay their hands on, be it their father’s money, mother’s money, younger ones’ money, even their boss’ money they had probably been sent on an errand with. The do this hoping to double or triple the money, so they can keep the excess for themselves. In most cases however, they end up in loss and you would find them gnashing their teeth.
The talk and no play: This ones come to the betting shop with one goal, to tell people who are ready to play the kind of games to play and how many odds they have. The idea is to make others win so that they can get a fair share of the win as price for their unsolicited professional insight.
The analyzers: They will come very early in the morning and start talking about the matches for the day. This type of people can tell you the history of all the players, coaches and even the FIFA president. With all their wealth of knowledge, they would predict and still lose.
The greedy ones: This type will come with just #100 hoping to win #15million. Their tickets will b longer than the Niger bridge with very high odds.
The observers: They will never play, all they do is to come and wait for those who are ready to play and keep asking silly questions like ” abeg dis bet dey really pay people”, ” bro how many times you don win” or “when be the last time wey you win”
The winners: They come to collect the money they have won with smiles all over their faces, some will even start making calls and telling their friends to start buying the bottles on their bill.
The Dreamers: They would claim they saw the games in their dream and know exactly what would happen. This set of people hardly win and keep blaming teams for their misfortunes.
The copy and paste: They come without any game in mind and hope to find someone with good games that they would copy from, they collect games from different people to make up theirs and play with faith, putting their fate in someone else’s hands.
