Wizkid-Rewind that (Don't mind refix)

A source close to Wizkid’s camp told Pulse Nigeria that plans were in motion to announce this deal spectacularly, with many outlets reporting that Sony Music is involved.

There’s something big coming up for Wizkid, and it happened while he was in America. The deal will be the biggest ever signed by an African, and signifies progress for the music business on the continent,” the source said.

Meanwhile NotJustOk’s head of content Ovie O. took to Twitter on September 12, 2016 to reveal some insights about the deal.  He confirmed the rumoured bidding war between Universal Music and Sony Music for the star.

The deal places Wizkid and Davido on the same platform, which makes things very interesting. (Ayo Jay signed with RCA directly).

Universal made a strong play for Wizkid (a top exec travelled to London for talks months back), but Sony offered a much better “package”.

All things being equal, Wizkid will put pen to paper on a mega deal with Sony/RCA tomorrow (Tuesday). Everything is agreed in principle.

The figures being mentioned in the Wizkid Sony/RCA deal are mind-blowing. Even crazier when u consider the Naira equivalent. Lol

Wizkid’s signing with Sony Music will see him joining the likes of Davido who signed a deal in the same label and Ayo Jay, who is signed to RCA records.

The singer whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, runs his own label imprint Star Boy has been making steady waves with his numerous collaborations with international artistes such asDrake, Swizz Beatz, Chris Brown and more.
