Lawmaker Provides Free Medical Service To Kebbi People

The district head of Kalgo, AlhaJI Haruna Jadda Bashar has applauded the efforts of Engr. Umar Faruk Muslim, the member House of Representatives representing Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo and Bunza for providing free medical service to the people of the area.

Bashar made the commendation during the flag-off ceremony of 3-day free medical service to people of Kalgo local government area of Kebbi State which took place at his palace in Kalgo.

He called on the people of the area to make themselves available for the medical service and also urged other politicians to emulate Hon. Faruk.

The chief operating officer of Mercy Home Foundation, Ema Nwosu, who is the head of the medical team, said they would be offering free and selfless services to the people of Kalgo in the areas of diagnosis and treatment with the aim of reaching over 4, 000 people in the area.

“As you can see, we are here in Kalgo for the next three days, courtesy of House of Representative member, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Muslim to render medical services which will involve check ups and free issuance of medicine and after that we also do referral to general hospitals “.

Hon. Engr. Umar Faruk Muslim said the free medical community programme outreach was targeted to reach 5, 000 people in the area in continuation of the one conducted in Birnin Kebbi local government area last year.

Hon. Muslim explained further remarked that the current hardship being faced by people necessitated his desire to assist them in view of their pathetic condition, especially those living in rural areas. “ Actually people are not finding it easy these days, people face a lot of challenges and you know that health is wealth.”

He was represented by his aide, Najib Ibrahim.

The sole administrator of Kalgo local government area , Alhaji Musa Hassan Kalgo also attended the occasion and described the lawmaker as worthy of emulation.
