Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun Oyetunji has called on market men and women to exercise their civic responsibility to the state government by paying their taxes and rates to assist the developmental efforts of government.
Speaking at the installation of Chief (Mrs) Mujidat Latona as the Iyaloja (Head of traders) of the popular Orisunbare market in Osogbo, Oba Oyetunji lauded the development of infrastructures by the Osun State government despite paucity of fund.
He charged the traders to complement government’s efforts adding tha government cannot solely achieve its developmental stride without the support of the citizenry.
Appreciating the monarch and his council, Chief Mujidat Latona assured the monarch of the commitment of her people to the development of Osogbo as the capital of the state.
On environmental sanitation, Chief Latona said because health is wealth, she would ensure that market men and women comply with the rules guiding disposal of waste in the market.
She also pledged peace during her tenure adding that she would ensure that Orisunbare market remains in the vanguard of peace which Osun State is reputed for.
