FCT Poll: Voting, Accreditation Will Hold Simultaneously – INEC


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has said voting and accreditation would go on simultaneously during the Saturday’s council elections in the territory.
Speaking at a stakeholders meeting on Friday in Abuja, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in charge of the FCT, Prof. Jacob Jatau, also said card readers would be used, while voting would commence by 8am and end by 2pm across the 62 polling units in the FCT.

He said the commission had improved on the card readers for the FCT election and advised voters to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner.
He disclosed that the commission had registered about 82,000 in the ongoing voter registration exercise in the territory,  urging those who had not collected their PVCs to endeavor to do so.
“On our part, we will play according to the rules and we will want the voters to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner,” the REC said.
