Deputy Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Abdulwasi Musah Loses N1.2m To Robbers


The Oyo State Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon Abdulwasi Musah representing Saki West State Constituency has lost a sum of 1.2 million naira to robbers.

Information gathered by  Media has it that the said amount was collected at gun point from the Legislator’s Personal Assistant, Hamsat Sulaiman when he was coming from the bank on Friday morning.

We were told that the incident occurred in front of a newly opened hotel along Total Garden-UCH-Secretariat road, after Sulaiman had carried out transaction at one of the new generation banks along the same road(name withheld).

It was further gathered that the suspected robbers, who were on motorcycle popularly called okada stopped Sulaiman, who was on his way back to the Secretariat and the money was collected from him at gun point.

According to our source “the incident occurred when he was on his way back to the office at Secretariat where honourable was waiting for him, it was in front of the new hotel along Secretariat road, not far from the bank.

When asked if the matter had been reported at the nearby police station, our source had this to say “I cannot say whether the incident has been reported at the police station because when the information got to Hon Musah, his boss, the owner of the money, he and another Honorable, Hon. A. Oseni drove out of the House of Assembly complex, but I cannot ascertain whether they went to report or not.”
