The accident scene at Jericho GRA
Residents of Jericho quarters in the city of brown roofs, Ibadan were stunned on Saturday evening, 16th of July, 2016 with a road mishap as an overloaded truck that was conveying metallic materials ran into a massive pothole that almost caused the rickety vehicle to tumble.
The blue truck caused a heavy traffic on the busy road as people rallied round to ameliorate the situation. A Tori News reader who reported the event under the condition of anonymity lamented on the state of the road which has been a threat to speedy vehicles plying the road in the dark.
Fortunately for the occupants of the vehicle, they escaped unhurt but looked obviously troubled as a result of the psychological effect of the shocking event.
An urgent appeal is currently being made to the Governor, Abiola Ajimobi of the All Progressives Congress to arrest the situation by fixing the road path around the former Trans motel junction before it begins to claim lives and destroy properties.
It is hoped that the glory days will be returned to Jericho GRA which used to be one of the highbrow areas in the largest city of West Africa.
