President Yahya Jammeh of Gambia is seeking a fifth term in office.
BBC reports that his key opposition is estate agent Adama Barrow whom most opposition figures have lined up behind. Mr Jammeh took power in a 1994 coup.
On Tuesday Jammeh warned his rivals against contesting the outcome of the vote. “Our election system is fraud-proof, rig-proof, you cannot rig our elections,” he said.
