It was a show of shame as Nyeri Members of the County Assembly presented an ‘underwear’ gift to one of their members, Paul Ngira after he seemingly embarrassed during a heated session in the House on Tuesday, August 23, in Kenya. It was reported that, the Chinga ward-representative Ngira was given vests and underwears donated by the Maendeleo ya Wanaume (MAWE) group following the violent altercation that erupted at the Assembly as his clothes were torn into pieces.

One of the House of Representative members who presented the gifts, Jesse Kamuri disclosed that: “It is a matter of shame that a grown man can be walking around without inner garments and after the scenes witnessed in the assembly, I think these garments will help our colleague to cover up. We are very happy that the organisation has seen it fit to help our friend because underwear is a very important item of clothing.” What a shame!
