PDP chieftain claimed that President Buhari has failed as a leader. Bafarawa, who was accused of corruption earlier, said that the president has no listening ears to hear the advices on how to save Nigeria. President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that ruling Nigeria is no joke.
Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, the ex-governor of the Sokoto state, has written letters to President Muhammadu Buhari, advising him how to rescue the nation. Speaking with Hausa service of the Voice of America, Bafarawa, however, stated that the President does not have a listening ear to hear the advices.
Bafarawa said: “Buhari has failed because he does not have a listening ear, he does not heed to advice at a time Nigerians are wallowing in poverty and deprivation,” Bafarawa said. “I’ve written several letters to President Buhari, seeking to have an audience with him on the way forward but he remains indifferent in granting me the opportunity.” He added that the problems facing Nigeria transcended political boundaries, continuing that Buhari must listen to wise counsel to unchain Nigerians from the clutches of deprivation.
A chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party added: “But I’m really angry with the so-called northern leaders who also chose to maintain sealed lips at this critical moment of our existence.” Last year the anti-graft agency accused Mr. Yuguda, Mr. Bafarawa, his son, Sagir Bafarawa, and their company, Dalhatu Investment Limited of receiving stolen property amounting to N4.633 billion from the office of the National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki. Dasuki is accused of diverting about $2.1 billion meant for the purchase of arms for the fight against the deadly Boko Haram group.
