Former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki has reportedly claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari is behind his endless detention.
According to Punch, Dasuki said this in an affidavit through his lawyers.
He sought to be discharged from further trial on the grounds that his re-arrest by the Department of State Service after the court granted him bail was tantamount to Federal Government’s alleged act of assault on the court, the report said.
This comes after Dasuki said last week that the Federal Government will have to comply with an order of the Federal High Court granting him bail before he faces trial.
Dasuki is facing three separate sets of criminal charges before the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja.
He was arrested last year for allegedly stealing more than $2bn meant to purchase weapons for the military to fight the Boko Haram insurgency.
Dasuki’s lawyer, Ahmed Raji, however, recently said that he (Dasuki) carried out instructions given by former president Goodluck Jonathan.
