Gov Umahi Suspends 2 LGs Chairmen, Shuts Out Commissioners Over Lateness


The Ebonyi State governor, Chief David Umahi yesterday suspended indefinitely two Development Centres chairmen, and shut out three  state executive council members and over 10 Development Centre coordinators for lateness during a security meeting held at the International Conference Centre (ICC) Abakaliki, the state capital.

The suspended coordinators are, coordinator of Ohaozara West DC, Hon Christian Ngene and that of Ohaozara Development Centre, Hon Ene Odii.

The state executive council members shut out include, commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ogodo Ali Nomeh, commissioner for Power, Hon. Emma Uguru, the special adviser to the governor on Information Communication Technology, Mr. Aja Nwabueze.

Others include, commissioner for Water, Engr, Francis Orji.  and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary Health, Central zone, Mrs. Obianuju Alor.

The Coordinators from  Ebonyi, Ohaozara and Izzi Development centers were also locked out of the meeting having arrived about 30 minutes late after the Governor’s arrival.
