Senate Leader, Ali Ndume has said Senate President Bukola Saraki will only resign from the position if he is convicted in his ongoing trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
He said it was wrong to condemn Saraki, before he was even found guilty by the court.
Ndume spoke with newsmen on Tuesday after a closed-door meeting with the Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He said it would be hasty to condemn the Senate President before the outcome of the tribunal’s trial since he has not been pronounced guilty.
Saraki is standing trial at the CCT over alleged false assets declaration.
There have been calls from Nigerians, urging Saraki to either step aside or resign pending the determination of the case.
