Nigerian Senate Swears In Ben Uwajumogu As Senator

Senator Ben Uwajumogu of Imo North APC on Tuesday took oath of office as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The oath was administered by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Earlier, Isaac Alfa of the PDP was also sworn in as Senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on July 29 declared Mr Ben Uwajumogu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of Imo North Senatorial District rerun election held on July 28.

Uwajumogu scored 56,076 votes to defeat Mr Athan Achonu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 43, 815 votes.
