#OndoElection: Jimoh Ibrahim Says No To Jegede As PDP’s Candidate

PDP is campaigning for Eyitayo Jegede instead of Jimoh Ibrahim Abang had earlier declared Ibrahim the legitimate candidate of the PDP, a move that was greeted with uproar by PDP members in Ondo state. There is presently a state of confusion over who will represent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Ondo election in November. This is because Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja has refused to grant stay of execution to the Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of the PDP over Ondo governorship candidate Jimoh Ibrahim of the Ali Modu Sheriff faction.

Abang’s ruling on Thursday, October 27 is at variant with a ruling acquired by the Makarfi faction on Wednesday, October 26. Sahara Reporters writes that earlier on Wednesday an Ondo High Court granted an order stopping the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from removing name of Eyitayo Jegede. Jimoh Ibrahim, factional PDP governorship candidate for Ondo election was reportedly installed by court But the order may not be as binding on INEC as that of a federal high court like Abang’s.
