As government and security agencies intensify efforts to get three Osun State government officials kidnapped on Friday along Obajana-Lokoja Road while returning from Abuja on official duties released, the state government may have also gone spiritual.
Three officials including the permanent secretary; Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Adebimpe Ogunlumade; Director, State Audit, Mr. Tajudeen Badejoko, and the driver, Mr. Oladapo Ajani Arogundade who were abducted by unidentified gunmen are yet to be released at press time yesterday.
It was gathered that the state government may have pleaded with churches through the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to raise prayer warriors that would continue to intercede on behalf of the victims so that they can be released from their captors.
The state government may have sought spiritual intervention through CAN as Christians across the state were mandated to raise prayer warriors in all churches to ensure immediate release of the government officials apart from special prayers offered in all churches yesterday.
Similarly messages were said to have been sent to mosques and other places for divine intervention in the matter.
As at the time of filing this report, the state government has dispatched delegation to visit the families and relations of the victims to reassure them that the government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring quick release of the government officials.
The government has also raised delegation of high level security operatives to Kogi State to join forces with those in the state on serious search of the whereabouts of the victims.
