The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has lost two seats in the State House of Assembly to opposition parties, reports Daily Trust.
The Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt upheld the ruling of the Election Petition Tribunal, which nullified the election of Michael Awoli Anapurere of the PDP representing Ogbia constituency 2 in the Assembly.
Anapurere was a former Commissioner of Health in the state.
The court in its ruling on Wednesday upheld the verdict of the tribunal, which declared Gibson Munalayefa of Labour Party as the winner of the election having scored the highest valid votes cast.
The court also declared Alfred Belemote Watson of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the winner of the Brass Constituency 2 in the Assembly.
In a ruling, the court upheld the earlier ruling of the tribunal and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue Watson his certificate of returns.
