Barely three weeks, after the Owonifaari Market was demolished, the Lagos State government has demolished another market in the Oshodi area of the state.
The demolished market is very close to the Owonifaari market which was demolished by the state government earlier in the year.
The demolition the market was said to have been carried out at midnight, and was done by officials of the Lagos State Government in company of fully armed security officers.
Found at the site were two bulldozers which had apparently been used to carry out the demolition while the rubbles were different kinds of households items including cooking stoves, crates of soft drinks, pieces of cloths, among others.
Scavengers had also swung into action, as they were seen scouting for metals, wood and any other item that could be of value to them.
Meanwhile commercial buses have also been driven away from some major motor parks in the area.
The once busy motor parks were deserted Morning morning when News24visited.
Policemen and other security personnel were seen at different locations around the parks preventing commercial buses from taking passengers.
