LASPOTECH Student, Adenike-Babalola Breaks Record, Graduates with 4.0 CGPA

Glamorous Nicole Peri, 30, hounded her former lover Timothy Harris with racy shots of herself, videos of them together and teary audio messages of her asking to see him. Over five weeks, she left 300 missed calls on his phone - one day calling 130 times - before using different numbers to contact him when he blocked her. Peri, who runs an upmarket fashion boutique in Norwich, Norfolk, was spared jail by magistrates who ordered she undergo "emotional management" and problem solving instead. Prosecutor Sharon Hall told Chelmsford Magistrates Court that police were called out several times from March 2015 to deal with altercations between the couple, whose relationship was described as "on-off".

Omoshalewa is the first student to graduate with the maximum CGPA. The rector assured that the school would offer her a job after her National Youth Service. – LASPOTECH Rector, Dr. Sogunro 

Omoshalewa Adenike Babalola, has made history as the first to graduate with the maximum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.0 at the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH). Omoshalewa, who is a Science Laboratory graduate, was the cynosure of all eyes at the 24th convocation of the polytechnic last Thursday.

The valedictorian was presented with prizes at the event graced by
Governor Akinwunmi Ambode (rep by his Deputy, Dr Oluranti Adebule), the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Oba Kabiru Shotobi, Ooni of Ife Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi and former Group Managing Director of Chams Plc Mr Ademola Aladekomo, among others.The ceremony at the school auditorium started at 10am with the procession of graduands and the principal officers led by the Rector, Dr. Samuel Sogunro.

Dr. Sogunro said Omoshalewa is the first student to graduate with the maximum CGPA. The rector assured that the school would offer her a job after her National Youth Service.

The school graduated 8,519 students. Of the number, 263 graduated with distinction.

Oba Ogunwusi, Oba Shotobi and Aladekomo were conferred with fellowship awards in recognition of their support for the school.

Omoshalewa, who spoke on behalf of other graduands, hailed the polytechnic staff for their guidance. She added that her feat was unbelievable, saying: “I never had it so easy.”
