Distraught parents remain without answers as Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and his representatives remain silent over the abduction of three schoolgirls at a Lagos institution that took place on Monday, Punch has reported.
Parents of pupils attending the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School have blamed poor security of the incident, saying that low perimeter walls and inadequate security presence are the cause of the tragedy.
Despite widespread coverage of the incident, neither State government nor any other officials have visited the or made any statement with regard to the missing girls.
Gunmen are alleged to have stormed the school on Monday night, shooting sporadically and injuring male students before making away with the three girls.
Despite resistance to the attack, security forces along with male students fought in vain as the bandits, 15 in number, ran off with their victims.
Panic-stricken parents have since removed their children from the school premises, lamenting a lack of security at the school’s hostel and calling upon officials to ensure the safety of pupils.
