Leader of the Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL), Prince Chimezie Obuka, said some members of a community demanding independence from Cameroon was backing similar plans in Nigeria where there have been demands for the freedom of Biafra.
Obuka said this after a recent meeting with delegates from the so-called Former British Southern Cameroon.
The meeting was in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
“We will not disclose their identities to avoid being hunted down by the Government of La Republic du Cameroun, but we arrived at a very good decision, though my members have to conclude in the second congress,” said Obuka ahead of the congress slated for Saturday.
He said the delegates from Cameroon were sent by Liberation Governing Council of Former British Southern Cameroon “and not Rufasca, though with the influence of Rufasca.”
“They should not be regarded as separatist or secessionists because their land (Ambazonia) was annexed, subjugated by La Republic du Cameroun and it’s only an independent Biafran State that will force the artificial government out from Ambazonia including Bakassi Peninsula,” said Obuka.
“In fact, they hinted that the Biafra war was supposed to have started from the Ambazonia, and that the blockade of Biafra through Bakassi would not have been effective.”
