Fani-Kayode has given support to a call for Nigeria’s break up by former vice chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Prof. Ango Abdullahi. Abdullahi believes that if Nigerians cannot stay together, then the different regions of the country should go their separate ways. Femi Fani-Kayode Former aviation minster, Femi Fani-Kayode has expressed support for the dissolution of Nigeria in the face of the many challenges the country is facing. Fani-Kayode tweeted his support of Nigeria’s balkanisation in a tweet on Wednesday, August 31.
The ex-minister’s tweet quoted the words of former minister of education and member of the Northern Elders Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, which said that Nigerians should go their separate ways if they can’t stay together, and added a big ‘Amen’ to it.
Fani-Kayode is a famous advocate of southern Nigerian equality as against perceived northern hegemony in the Nigerian federation. He has complained against the continuous killings of the southerners by nomadic Fulani herdsmen who have gone on rampage in states like Ekiti, Enugu and Ondo among others. Meanwhile, Prof. Ango Abdullahi has lashed out President Muhammadu Buhari and insisted that he must either wage a war against militants or leave Boko Haram alone. The former vice chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University made this remark in Abuja during the launch of two books written by Dr Hadiza Wada.
