Sunday Agbariko, a driver who works with a Christian ministry, has landed himself into more trouble after reportedly crushing the leg of Olayemi Isiaka, an officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
In an attempt to escape with his vehicle which was seized by LASTMA officials, the suspect requested for his car key from the agency personnel stating that he wants to retrieve an important document from it.
Unfortunately, he rammed down Isiaka, who was stationed at the gate as he tried to speed off from the Ojota yard of the transportation supervision office.
The concerned officer was left critically damaged after the driver crushed his leg.
Bashir Braimah, the General Manager of LASTMA condemned the incident when he paid a courtesy visit to the officer at the hospital.
He stated that the agency will not bow to intimidation from members of the public in an attempt to discharge its duties.
“LASTMA will not be intimidated by anybody, and we will not shy away from performing the task of maintaining law and order on Lagos roads.”
“LASTMA will always employ the instrumentality of the law to deal with any member of the society who attacks any traffic officer on duty.”
According to Punch News, the suspect has been handed over to the Area F Police Command for appropriate action.
