Troops Rescue Hundreds From Boko Haram Bondage

Troops from the 151 Task Force Battalion of 21 Brigade have rescued about 300 people held hostage by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State.

Some 25 terrorists were killed during the separate raids.

Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, confirm the development.

He said the brigade while on patrol encountered Boko Haram terrorists at Budumri village during which they killed the alleged Boko Haram terrorists and arrested eight others.

“The troops also rescued 103 civilians held hostage by the terrorists,” said Usman.

Troops also recovered a car, motorcycles and bicycles.

They also cleared terrorists’ camp at Bolungu village, according to Usman.

He said the same unit also rescued 181 persons and captured eight alleged terrorists.

Usman said the screening and profiling of those rescued is ongoing before their movement to IDP camps, while those arrested were being interrogated.
