Joshua reportedly abducted the two siblings aged 13 and 8, while they were returning from extra-moral classes in the Satellite area of the state, took them to a shop at 63, Marwa Road, near Chemist Bus Stop, and exchanged them for bags of rice.

The owner of the shop later learnt that Joshua was not the father of the children, but this was after he left with the bags of rice. One of the witnesses at the scene, who gave her name as John Ifeoma, explained that the real father of the two siblings suddenly showed up after Joshua left. The children’s father claimed they were hypnotized by their kidnapper and called the police. The children were later released to their biological father while the suspect was arrested, according to Daily Post, which said the police spokesperson in the state, Dolapo Badmus, confirmed the incident. Nigeria recently entered recession after signs that all was not well had continued for many months.
