Tiriyan met the love of her life at a friend’s wedding years ago but although they both fell hard for each other, things did not quite go as well as the lovely lady expected. After Tiriyan and Fasmir met at a friend’s wedding, the couple knew they were meant for each other. Love came easy and they both knew they would love to spend their life together, forever. But forever could not come soon enough for Tiriyan.

When they got engaged in 2014, the rosy-cheeked beauty from Adamawa state thought her wedding day was just around the corner. But she waited and waited and almost gave up hope before her Prince Charming finally decided that it was time to take the walk down the aisle. Tirinya said, “At a point, I was ashamed to wear my engagement ring.”

She thought her day would never come and seeing other women who got engaged after her get married before her didn’t help. Then there was also the questions from impatient family and friends: “When is the big day? Are you still engaged? Will he ever marry you?” However, when she was starting to think she might have to return her engagement ring or spend the rest of her years a bride-to-be but never a bride, a date was finally fixed for the big day.

Now, Tirinya will say “I do” to the man who swept her off her feet that time so long ago, on October 1 – Indepence Day. “We are an Independence Day couple,” she proudly said.
