UNILORIN Students Enjoin FG, NYSC To Look For Missing Graduate

Today, Tuesday, students of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), appealed to the Federal Government to assist in the search of a missing National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, identified as Shorunke Lukmon Olayiwola.

It will be recalled that Lukman, a graduate from the University of Ilorin UNILORIN and 2015 batch B Stream 1 corps member serving in Anka local government area of Zamfara State with the code number ZM/15B/1100 was declared missing on Wednesday, 21 September 2016.

Olayiwola was reportedly travelling from his hometown, Abeokuta to board a bus to Zamfara in Ibadan for his final clearance in preparation for the NYSC members’ Passing Out Parade (POP) on October 6, but since Wednesday 20th of September 2016, no one has been able to reach him.

According to his friends on the social media, Sango/Coca-cola area of Ibadan in Oyo State was said to have been the last point of contact with him. There, he told a friend who chatted with him that the vehicle he boarded was held up in gridlock.

It was also gathered that the case has been reported to the Oyo State Police Headquarters and the State command of the Department of State Security Service (DSS), Director General of NYSC through the Zamfara State Coordinator of NYSC, Department of State Security Service, Oyo State Command, and the Oyo State NYSC Coordinator.

They, however, appealed to the Federal Government, the Oyo State Police Command, all security operatives to intensify efforts on the search for the NYSC member.

And also urged the general public to help in the search and contact the Police station, NYSC or the school authority if there is any useful information about Lukmon Olayiwola.
