Coach Gernot Rohr has named a strong 23-man squad to face Zambia in next month’s Fifa World Cup qualifier.

The Super Eagles will be hoping for a winning start in their quest to book a ticket for Russia 2018 when they visit Chipolopolo in Ndola on October 9.

Topping the list is red-hot Manchester City forward, Kelechi Iheanacho alongside Arsenal young sensation Alex Iwobi and Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa.

Others include Kenneth Omeruo, Elderson Echiejile, Ogenyi Onazi, Nosa Igiebor, Brown Ideye and John Obi Mikel.

Watford forward Odion Ighalo has been excused from the team as he would bury his late father on the eve of the game, while Isaac Success has been offered a chance to earn his senior national team debut.

Invited players are expected to start arriving in Abuja as from October 2, 2016.
