South Africa head coach Desiree Ellis has claimed that her team are already looking forward to a meeting with the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the semi-final of the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations on Tuesday.
The South Africans confirmed their progress into the last four following their emphatic 5-0 win against Egypt on Friday.
The Falcons however are yet to book their place into the semi-finals as they have to avoid defeat against already eliminated Kenya in Saturday’s Group B tie.
Ellis also identified the Black Queens of Ghana as another team Banyana are anticipating a clash with in the semi-finals.
“I don’t think I had to motivate the players because they knew what was at stake (against Egypt),” Ellis told Cafonline.
“We created a lot in the first half, and when we started stretching them and created openings, we scored. It is not a dream but we had the belief.
“We always had the belief that we could play better. We wanted to make sure we get the result we needed. We had always been creating the chances and hopefully going forward, we can take more chances.
” If you want to win you have to play against all teams. We have to plan for either Ghana or Nigeria. It doesn’t matter which team we play because we will have to play either of them.”
