Captain of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Evelyn Nwabuoku has assured Nigerians that in spite of the long break the team had in recent times, the Falcons will be back to their best in no time to earn a ticket for the African Women Cup of Nation (AWCON).
The player told journalists that “I know that we’ve not trained for long but with the turn out of players since we resumed and the kind of training we’ve been going through, I know definitely we will make Nigeria proud by qualifying for the AWCON later in the year.”
Evelyn Nwabuoku however, admitted that while the home based players are all in camp and ready, they will still definitely need the services and experience of the foreign-based professionals being expected to join the team any moment from now.
She added: “In terms of experience we will still be needing the foreign based players. I am looking forward to their arrival so that they can use their experience to help the team.
“The coaches are right in saying there won’t be an automatic jersey for any player. When the foreign -based arrive, they will have to prove that they deserve the jersey.”
