New Arsenal Signing Lucas Perez’s Father Has A Surprising Profession In England

Arsenal are closing in on one of the biggest signings of their summer transfer window, with Deportivo striker Lucas Perez set to arrive in the next few days, but it seems the Spaniard may have another reason for moving to London.

Having scored 17 goals in La Liga last season, Perez, 27, is set to become the Gunners’ third major signing of the summer following the arrival of Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding, and Valencia centre-back Shkodran Mustafi looks like joining him.

Perez will cost somewhere in the region of £17 million, and arrives at the Emirates following the Gunners’ failed chase of Alexandre Lacazette and Jamie Vardy and, according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, he won’t be lonely in his new city.

That’s because, apparently, his father already has a stall selling octopus at Camden Market:

We have absolutely no idea how or why Perez’s dad ended up selling squid in London, but at least the forward will have a family member to keep him octopied…octopied?! (I’m so sorry).
