Despite signing a new contract keeping him at St James’ Park for an extra year, Tim Krul has agreed a one-year loan deal with Ajax.
The Dutch stoppers new contract now runs until June 2018, while ensuring they’ll receive a transfer fee should the club sell him.
Ajax took to social media to confirm the signing as they unveiled him on Twitter.

The 28-year-old also reacted to the loan deal, and left a classy parting gesture to his parent club as they look to bounce back to the top flight.

Dutch outlet, De Telegraaf claim that Ajax are hoping the keeper will be ready to resume action after the international break at the start of September.
