Predictable he might be but we couldn’t imagine a deadline day without Peter Crouch.
Transfer Deadline Day always produces the goods in terms of unpredictability and we can always rely on Crouchy to produce some classic banter on the big day.
Crouch told his 176k Twitter followers that a technical fault ‘on the chopper’ was the reason behind his failed transfer away from Stoke but Barcelona would have been a step down anyway, Pete.
There’s always next year, ey.
Technical fault with the chopper . Looks like I'm staying put . #DeadlineDay

Swansea were reportedly interested in a deal for Crouch earlier on in the transfer window, but nothing materialised after they signed Fernando Llorente.
Last year, Crouch produced this banger before the window opened:
“@DeadlineDayLive: City boss Pellegrini says the club will invest in a "big player" in summer – & want him to be English"-I'm happy at scfc

We love Peter Crouch.
There’s no two ways about it.
