The 19-year-old, fresh from winning a gold medal with his country at the Olympics earlier this summer, was called-up for the World Cup qualifier away to Ecuador – a place the Brazilians haven’t won a qualifier in for over 33 years.

With the game played at more than 10,000 feet above sea level, Jesus singled himself out as Brazil’s hero after a goalless first-half by stealing the show in the second and blowing Ecuador away to claim all three points…and his second goal was an absolute belter:

Aside from scoring two, Jesus had a hand in the third too when he won his side a penalty, which was coolly slotted away by Neymar to ensure victory.

So, Brazil’s World Cup qualification is off to a pretty straightforward start – and it looks like Man City have bagged themselves a genuine star.
