The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) claims it has not received an official letter of resignation from Sunday Oliseh who dropped the job of the head coach of the Super Eagles.
Media officer of NFF, Ademola Olajire told News24 that the body is yet to get a correspondence from Oliseh as regards news of his resignation
“We have not received a resignation letter from him,” he told News24 on telephone.
When asked about Oliseh’s resignation tweets on Friday and the Federation’s next move, Olajire said as soon as the official letter is received, the NFF will take the next step.
“Oliseh was not employed on twitter, when we get his resignation letter we will know what next to do,” Olajire concluded.
Oliseh resigned just after seven months in the position after his appointment in July 2015.
Announcing his resignation on twitter, the former Super Eagles captain said he took the decision “due to Contract violations, lack of Support, Unpaid wages, Benefits to my players, Asst. Coaches & myself.”
He however said “I feel fortunate, blessed and eternally grateful for having had the honour to Play,Captain & Coach this great Nation of ours, Nigeria.”
His resignation is coming just two weeks after he released a videos where he slammed critics for faulting him after Nigeria crashed out of the 2016 CHAN.
