Onazi says he wants Vincent Enyeama and Emmanuel Emenike back to the national team
Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi has revealed that he wants former national teammates, Vincent Enyeama andEmmanuel Emenike back to the team.
Enyeama and Emenike resigned from the Super Eagles in October, 2015 when Sunday Oliseh was coach. Enyeama left the senior national team after clashing with then coach, Oliseh for stripping him of the captaincy while striker Emenike gave no reason for his decison.
There have been talks about the return of the duo following the resignation of Oliseh last week but they have since stated that they won’t be making a comeback.
“We’ll be very happy to have them back. I spoke with them before now and the most important thing is for us to come together and make the country proud and keep sentiment aside. Our country first before other things,” Onazi told the Cable.
The midfielder also expressed confidence in the Super Eagles ahead of their 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifying double header against Egypt.
He called on Nigerians to come out en masse to the stadium to support the Super Eagles.
