The Drug Enforcement Commission in Lusaka has arrested a 36 year-old female South African national for trafficking in cocaine in Zambia. Palesa Ishline Rose Mononela, 36, of Blomfontein Free State South Africa has been arrested for trafficking in 3.2kg of cocaine which was wrapped around her legs. The suspect was apprehended from the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport upon arrival from Sao Paulo Brazil aboard Angolan Airlines.
Meanwhile the Commission in Kitwe, Copperbelt Province has arrested two (02) male juveniles aged 14 and 17 of Bulangililo and Kapoto compound respectively for trafficking in 1.4kg of cannabis.
Others arrested include Lillian Chibuye, 31, of Itala Compound in Mkushi for trafficking in 25.1kg of cannabis, Charity Lupiya, 32, of Kawama East in Mufulira for trafficking in 15kg of cannabis, Nyambe Wamunyima, 36, a small scale farmer of Namatwi area in Sesheke District for trafficking in 12.1kg of cannabis and Namakola Manyando, 30, of Nasitoko in Mongu District for trafficking in 10kg of cannabis.
All suspects will appear in Court soon.
